Work/Consumer segmentation

PiSA Salud Animal (ElectroDog®)

Two very different dog owners. One launch price.

ElectroDog® is a canine electrolyte drink entering the U.S. pet-care market. Before spending on distribution, PiSA Salud Animal needed to know which buyer to chase first, and what to charge them.

The product was ready. The question was who buys it first.

ElectroDog® is a ready-to-drink electrolyte beverage for dogs, a pet-focused extension of the Electrolit brand, entering the U.S. market through a Southern California launch. Before committing to a distribution plan, PiSA Salud Animal needed to know which buyer would actually move first, and at what price.

We ran a synthetic segmentation study of 2,000 consumer profiles across two Southern California panels. Two distinct buyers emerged: an urban, higher-income pet-parent segment, and a working or active dog owner shopping the farm-and-feed channel, each with a different price ceiling and a different reason to trust a new product on the shelf.

The recommendation set an optimal launch price of $3.99, well below the $4.99 the team had been considering, and sequenced the rollout: specialty retail first, national pet chains second, farm-and-feed third, mass distribution held back until the earlier channels proved out.
